Free Advice, Grants and Low Interest Loans for Home Renewable Energy
South Gloucestershire Council has teamed up with Severn Wye Energy Agency to launch SG Futurenergy – a renewable energy advice scheme which provides free advice, grants and low interest loans to help install renewable energy in the home.
SG Futurenergy’s helpline is manned by expert advisors that give free, impartial advice and help identifying the most suitable renewable technology for your home. They will also provide a list of reliable local installers.
Grants of £500 will be awarded to homeowners to help towards the cost of installing a renewable technology.
The scheme has also introduced a low interest loan, to further help towards the cost of installing a renewable energy system. Up to £3,500 can be loaned at a fixed interest rate of three per cent over a maximum of 10 years.
Installing renewable energy at home can dramatically reduce your energy bills you are helping the environment too. The renewable technologies that are eligible for the scheme's grant and loan include: solar hot water, solar photovoltaics (PV), ground source heat pumps, small scale wind and biomass.
